Rusty Doebler is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer at SSA. If you don't
find Rusty at the shop or teaching in the pool, he is surely out diving somewhere just for fun. While he
enjoys cold water diving, DPV's and deco diving, he especially enjoys wreck and deep diving off
the eastern seaboard while filming wrecks, sharks and other aquatic wonders. Rusty has a passion for
teaching and loves to dive with divers of any skill level whether it involves training or just for
fun. Just ask if you need a buddy for a dive, chances are good he would love to go! Rusty also holds
multiple gear technician certifications.

Jim Bean is the director of Sullivan County's Emergency
Management Agency and the water rescue team leader for the Kingsport Lifesaving Crew. Staffing,
training, directing and coordinating a team of search and recovery divers for Sullivan County is a
testament to Jim's skills as a leader. Certifying divers for over a decade and serving with the
Kingsport Lifesaving Crew for 25 years, Jim brings diving expertise and experience to SSA's
instructional staff. Sub Surface Adventures is thrilled to have Jim as an exclusive member of its teaching staff.

Capt. Derek Metcalf is a Squadron Commander with the
Civil Air Patrol, USAF Auxiliary where he most recently received the Lifesaving award. He also
received the Humanitarian award from the Greeneville Exchange Club. Derek has served the community
for the last 14 years as a firefighter with the Greeneville Fire Department and has served for three
years on the board of Directors for the Greene County American Red Cross, for eight years in the Boy
Scouts on the Nolachuckey District Committee , and is an EMT/IV technician, a HazMat specialist,
an instructor trainer, a lifeguard instructor, and an emergency services instructor with the Red Cross.
Derek is also one of three gear technicians at SSA. We are proud to have Derek as an exclusive member
of our instructional staff.

Divemaster Mitch Kiser has a tremendous love
for diving and is continuously expanding his dive knowledge with new training and certification courses.
You will frequently see Mitch assisting with scuba classes, working in the shop, filling your tanks or
maintaining our dive gear. As an avid boater, you are sure to see Mitch at the helm during some of
our many events. Mitch looks forward to working with future divers and watching them grow to love this
sport as much as he does. Mitch also holds multiple gear technician certifications.

Master Diver and Divemaster Roger Adams has a well documented record as a master logistician.
He has worked in the transportation and logistics field for twenty three years, militarily and
commercially. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his logistical expertise in the performance of his
duties as the 1030TH Engineer Battalion Logistical Officer during Desert Storm. Roger has proved
invaluable with his expertise during complicated training sessions with logistical challenges. He is
a veteran diver that is the perfect compliment to the SSA instructional staff. We are proud to have
Roger on our training team.

Patty Kiser worked at Eastman Chemical for many years before retiring in 2004. You will frequently see
Patty in the shop eager to assist you with your equipment and diving needs. Patty has a love for the
water and recently started her scuba adventure. Being an avid and knowledgable boater, you're sure to
see Patty at the helm during some of our local outings as well. Patty does an excellent job at
coordinating our local events to insure everyone has a great time. SSA is pleased to have Patty as part
of the team.
